RECIPE: Roasted Spiced Chickpeas


2x 400g cans of chickpeas

2 tbsp. olive oil

1 tsp. paprika

1 tsp. turmeric

1 tsp. cumin

Salt and pepper



Pre-heat oven at 200 degrees Celsius.

Pour chickpeas into a strainer over the sink. Rinse them thoroughly in cool water.

Transfer the chickpeas onto a clean tea towel. Pat the chickpeas dry.

In a large bowl, add chickpeas, all spices and olive oil. Add a sprinkle of pepper and salt (optional). Toss through well so that all chickpeas are coated in spices.

Line medium-large baking tray with baking paper. Spread the chickpeas evenly over the baking tray.

Roast for 25-35 minutes, until golden and crisp. Half way through cooking time, toss and stir the chickpeas to ensure they cook through evenly.

Serve immediately or leave to cool and store in an airtight container.
