RECIPE: Banana and Chia Bread
I love love love banana bread however the breads that can be purchased from cafes and supermarkets are often filled with added sugar, fat and salt. But, have no fear, I have a beautiful and easy recipe for you.
Why do I love Banana and Chia Bread?
Filled with wonderful healthy polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats found in the almond meal, chia seeds and olive oil. These healthy fats are beneficial for a healthy heart, lowering cholesterol levels and healthy glowing skin.
Rich in fibre from the chia seeds and banana, helping to keep your digestive system working efficiently. Fibre can also assist in lowering cholesterol levels, stabilising blood sugar levels and keeping you feeling fuller for longer.
A great source of protein, meaning it makes for the perfect snack to keep you are left feeling satisfied until your next meal.

1 cup of almond meal
1 cup of wholemeal flour
3 medium ripe bananas
1 tsp. vanilla essence
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 cup chia seeds
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup olive oil
1/4 cup milk
1/2 tsp. baking soda
Preheat oven at 180 degrees.
Add flour, almond meal, cinnamon, baking soda and chia seeds into a large bowl.
In a separate bowl, mash bananas. Add eggs, vanilla essence, olive oil, milk and honey to bananas and mix well.
Mix wet and dry ingredients together and combine well.
Line a loaf pan with baking paper. Add mixture to pan.
Bake for 45-50 minutes, until golden brown.
